MEET ALYSSA BLACK

I enjoy working teens and young adults who experience challenges such as trauma, depression, anxiety, and life transitions.
Resident in Social Work

Hi, my name is Alyssa, and I enjoy working teens and young adults who experience challenges such as trauma, depression, anxiety, and life transitions. As a therapist I believe that establishing a therapeutic relationship is key in any treatment and work to create a safe space free of judgment.

It is important to me to work with each of my clients to tailor their treatment to their individual needs. I incorporate a variety of evidence based approaches including ART (Accelerated resolution Therapy), CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), and Solution Focused Therapy. I also enjoy using expressive activities in session.

I have a Master’s in Social Work and a Bachelor’s in Human and Child Development, both from Brigham Young University. When I am not working, I enjoy going outside, especially when it’s warm and sunny. I love having new experiences and trying out new hobbies!
