Licensed Clinical Social Work
Resident

Aspen graduated with a Master’s in Social Work and a certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Georgia. She has experience as a family advocate at a clinic for children that have endured or witnessed emotional, physical, or sexual abuse. There, she worked on promoting positive family environments in rural, impoverished areas. She also worked as a university affiliated therapist for young adults tackling issues such as anxiety, trauma, adoption, depression, grief, and relationship conflict. Aspen previously worked in the public mental hospital sector and the addiction detox sector as a mental health technician.

Aspen is an empowering therapist that has extensive experience working with individuals who find themselves in high-stress environments or have a history of trauma, and feel overwhelmed, anxious, and/or depressed. Aspen also works with clients who are enduring life transition struggles, struggling to cope with intersectional limitations, relationship difficulties, and feeling trapped by their unhappiness.

As a clinician, Aspen creates a therapeutic space that emphasizes unconditional positive regard and uses modalities that increase the client’s aspirations, autonomy, and positive core beliefs to promote healing and growth. These modalities include narrative therapy techniques, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) techniques. Aspen honors diversity, is LGBTQ+ affirming, and is culturally sensitive.

Outside of work, Aspen loves exploring coffee shops in the local area and hanging out with her cats, Pixel & Kiki.
