MEET DR. MATTHEW JOHNSON

Clinical Psychologist
Dr. Matthew Johnson is a Board Certified Licensed Clinical Psychologist who has worked in the field of mental health for over 15 years. In that time, he has worked with individuals, couples and families across the life span in a variety of capacities and functions. Dr. Johnson works as a psychodynamic psychotherapist who uses an integrative approach to facilitate collaborative curiosity, creativity, and ultimately, healing in hopes of reorienting clients towards day-to-day meaning making while freeing themselves from harmful repetitions that inhibit potential.
Dr. Johnson completed his undergraduate degree at Temple University. He then went on to receive his Master of Arts at the Boston Graduate School of Psychoanalysis and PhD in Counseling Psychology at Pennsylvania State University. While at Penn State he received a Health Professions Scholarship and went on to serve in the United States Navy for seven years. While serving, Dr. Johnson also completed a post-doctoral Master of Science in Clinical Psychopharmacology from Fairleigh Dickinson University and began psychoanalytic training at the Contemporary Freudian Institute in Washington, DC.
In his free time, Dr. Johnson enjoys reading, writing, and traveling with his friends and family.
