Holly Martinson
M. Ed., RYT-200
 

Holly combines her 18 + years of education experience with training in mindfulness, yoga, and areas of mental health to provide children and teens with the tools needed for academic success.  Based on your child’s needs, Holly will provide a unique blend of academic, emotion regulation, and mindfulness work.

 

Tutoring sessions with Holly can involve any of the following:

 

Pre- K and Elementary:

  • Academic support for Math through a multisensory approach (based on Orton Gillingham Techniques as recommended by the NCTM), Language Arts, ESL, and an active and hands-on learning approach with other subjects

  • Specific strategies to facilitate Growth Mindset and address math anxiety

 

All Ages:

  • Facilitating learning and development of organizational, time management, study skills, and other Executive Functioning skills

  • Teaching specific skills to address anxiety as related to academic work

  • Teaching mindfulness, breathing, and yoga skills to increase focus, a calm mind, and resilience when working through challenges

  • Frequent movement breaks and practice in prioritizing and chunking work

 

* Upon your request, Holly is happy to collaborate with your child’s classroom teacher, mental health practitioner, and other school specialists.
