Katie Doppelheuer, LPC
Licensed Professional Counselor
Katie is a Licensed Professional Counselor who specializes in the treatment of Anxiety, ADHD and executive function, Depression, OCD, phase of life transitions, and chronic periods of high stress. She has extensive experience supporting children, adolescents, and adults across the lifespan, with additional training and certification in the treatment of ADHD, perinatal women’s health, and nutrition for mental wellness.
Katie’s approach to therapy is warm, curious, and integrative. She holistically prioritizes the unique needs of the clients in her care, working collaboratively with them at every step of the process. She blends a variety of evidence-based therapeutic approaches to help shift unhealthy thinking patterns, develop healthier habits, change unhelpful behavior patterns, improve relationships, and reduce or eliminate the unwanted effects of life’s stressors. She often integrates aspects of ACT, CBT, DBT, and ERP into a psychodynamic framework. For her youngest clients, she seamlessly weaves aspects of play therapy into her sessions to foster a creative, imaginative, and age appropriate therapeutic environment.
Katie is a graduate of Trinity University, where she completed a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology in 2015. She is both a Licensed Professional Counselor, and Certified Professional School Counselor-grades K-12, in the state of Virginia. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family, exercising, cooking, traveling, reading, and spending time with her dog, Turbo.
