REBECCA NICKERSON

Resident in Social Work
Rebecca is a licensed master social worker (LMSW) who works with adults and teens dealing with anxiety, depression, life and career transitions, and relationship challenges. She provides a safe, supportive space where clients can explore their thoughts and feelings, build on their strengths, and work toward their therapy goals to live more meaningful and satisfying lives. Rebecca takes a person-centered, nonjudgmental approach, blending techniques from psychodynamic therapy, motivational interviewing, CBT, and family systems theory to help individuals navigate a variety of mental health concerns.

Rebecca earned her MSW in Clinical Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University and has experience in outpatient mental health and nonprofit affordable housing settings. Before becoming a therapist, Rebecca worked in the federal government. She also holds a PhD and an MA in East Asian Languages and Cultures from the University of Illinois and a BA in Sociology and Anthropology from Colgate University. Rebecca spent several years living, working, and studying in Japan, and she enjoys cooking, reading, knitting, and traveling.
