MEET SUNDUS AHMED

Resident in Counseling

Sundus Ahmed grew up in New York City and moved to Washington DC in 2021 to continue her education in psychology. Ms. Ahmed received her undergraduate and master’s degrees in science from Queens College (City University of New York). She completed her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC) at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology in summer of 2022 and is pursuing her PhD in Industrial and Organizational Psychology. She is an active member of American Counseling Association and often performs volunteer work as part of her endeavor to spread mental health awareness. Her current theoretical orientation revolves around trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy and psychoanalytic approaches. 

 

Ms. Ahmed strongly believes that counselors are agents of social change, and she goes above and beyond in advocating for her clients. Her research experiences and interests are in analyzing homelessness in metropolitan areas. For the past three years, Ms. Ahmed has worked closely with individuals from underserved communities. This has been the guiding factor for Ms. Ahmed in choosing to work with Think Happy Live Healthy.  

 

Sundus is passionate about working with clients with various issues and concerns which include anxiety, mood disorders and depression, trauma, adjustment, phases of life, attention/concentration problems, and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). She works with almost all age groups including children above 6 years old. Ms. Ahmed is known for building a strong and trusting relationship with her clients and creating a safe space for them.
