MEET ALYSSIA RODRIGUEZ

Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Alyssia ( she/her) is a licensed clinical social worker.  She utilizes a collaborative and integrative approach to therapy, incorporating motivational interviewing,cognitive behavioral therapy and expressive modalities such as grounding and mindfulness to enhance the therapeutic process. During the therapeutic process she will explore how the past or present wounds are preventing individuals from feeling safe, heard and whole. She believes everyone should feel supported in how they present to the world by providing a space that honors the client to tell their story. 

 

Alyssia is passionate about supporting clients to foster self-awareness and gain insight into their thoughts, feelings and behaviors by empowering individuals to recognize and draw from their inner strength.  She is newly trained in EMDR and recognizes the importance of using the body as the biggest tool to regulate and soothe self. Alyssia strives to provide a safe space to ensure culturally competent and LGBTQIA-affirming care in sessions. 

 

Alyssia has specialized training working with survivors of domestic and sexual violence, sex trafficking, maladjustment, PTSD, anxiety, LGBTQIA- related issues, women issues and co-occuring substance use.  

 

Alyssia received her Bachelors of Social Work and Masters of Social Work, and Gender Violence Certification, from Virginia Commonwealth University. 

 

In her free time, Alyssia enjoys spending quality time with her wife and son.
