MEET LAUREN ELMER

Lauren holds a Master of Social Work from the Case Western Reserve University and is a Licensed Master Social Worker in Virginia. Prior to joining the team at THLH, Lauren has been working hard as a Special Educator. She especially has enjoyed her time assisting neurodivergent individuals and those on the Autism spectrum. Her transition into therapy was a natural evolution, driven by the desire to provide an impactful and personalized approach to emotional and mental well-being. Lauren has most recently worked at an IOP/PHP clinic where she gained valuable experience treating a wide range of high acuity mental health issues through individual, family, and group therapy. Lauren’s therapeutic philosophy centers around empathy, understanding, and the firm belief that all individuals have the innate strength to overcome challenges and lead fulfilling lives. Lauren enjoys using DBT skill building, motivational interviewing, and solution-focused therapy in her therapeutic approach. When Lauren is not working, she enjoys all things exercise and has been a passionate vegan since 2014!
