Resident in Social Work

Oksana is a Licensed Master Social Worker and holds an MSW in Clinical Social Work from Boston University’s School of Social Work.

Prior to joining Think Happy Live Healthy, Oksana interned at an Outpatient Addiction Treatment center, where she provided group and individual therapy to clients struggling with substance use issues. Oksana also interned at a DC non-profit providing support to underprivileged mothers of young children faced with the challenges of raising a family. While working together with the client, Oksana helped them to identify specific goals and establish and implement a series of action steps to help them reach their goals.

In her work with clients, Oksana uses a combination of treatment techniques and modalities, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Solution Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Mindfulness. Oksana firmly believes that people are capable of change, when they are internally motivated and properly supported. Together we will create the roadmap for you to begin making small changes, one step at a time, towards a more fulfilling and rewarding future, however you see it. Our therapeutic relationship will be built on a foundation of unconditional positive regard and open and honest communication, and I will be there to help guide you along the way.

Oksana is passionate about the mind-body connection. She holds a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training Certificate. She is keen on implementing breath work, yoga, movement and meditation into her sessions, if this is something the client is interested in exploring.

Oksana’s experience also includes more than a decade of working in the field of International Affairs for the Washington, DC government sector before deciding to pursue her passion for helping others live happier and healthier lives. Oksana believes it is never too late to make a change in one’s life – be it a professional change or a personal one.
