MEET LINDSEY KARL

Licensed Professional Counselor
Lindsey is a Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in child and adolescent care and has experience providing individual therapy, family therapy, and leading psychoeducational groups. She has supported individuals with a variety of needs, such as anxiety, behavioral challenges, depression, emotional dysregulation, inattention, mood disorders, sensory processing difficulties, self-injurious behavior, and underdeveloped social skills.

Lindsey is passionate about prioritizing the unique mental, emotional, and physical needs of each individual and utilizes a variety of therapy approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), humanistic, person-centered, and strengths-based interventions. She believes that a proactive approach aids in personal growth, builds resilience, and provides the skills and insights needed to navigate (future) challenges more effectively.

Lindsey obtained her undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin - LaCrosse, followed by her graduate degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee. Prior to relocating to the DMV area and joining Think Happy Live Healthy, Lindsey worked as a child and adolescent therapist in a psychiatric facility in Wisconsin providing acute-therapy in intensive outpatient, partial hospitalization, and inpatient hospitalization programs.
Outside of work, Lindsey enjoys trying new coffee shops, reading, traveling, and exploring the DMV’s many attractions.
