Adam Hiller, LCSW

Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Adam is a therapist whose diverse background has provided him with the opportunity to meet clients where they are, create an environment conducive to a successful therapeutic relationship and help his clients find the strength within themselves to work towards the person and place in their life they long to be.

Following his undergraduate studies, Adam went on to earn a Masters in Social Work from Roberts Wesleyan University and a Masters in Theological Studies from Northeastern Seminary. He has been a licensed and practicing therapist since 2021 and has experience working in both public mental health facilities as well as private practice. Prior to his career as a therapist, Adam has experience in church leadership, residential treatment facilities, youth mentorship and various blue collar jobs. Adam believes his diverse background has not only shaped him as a person but also as a therapist by giving him the ability to understand his clients on a personal level and relate to a variety of perspectives and experiences his clients may bring into the office.

Adam has experience working with clients dealing with anxiety, depression or stress often stemming from deeper struggles with; self-esteem, peer relationships, family conflict, communication skills, conflict resolution, or spiritual trauma. Because every client is different, Adam takes a client-centered approach to treatment and is able to use a variety of techniques including CBT, mindfulness, acceptance, and active listening to best serve each individual client and their unique needs.

Because Adam works with clients who have both been to therapy in the past, as well as clients starting therapy for the very first time, he focuses on building a good rapport with clients from the beginning of the therapeutic relationship. His professional background allows him to work with a variety of clients and specialize in working with underrepresented groups such as spiritual leaders, men, those struggling with ADHD and adolescents. Through his approach Adam is able to create a safe space for his clients to navigate the complexities of their daily life, be vulnerable, share struggles, insecurities and fears they face without retribution and find their voice in an often loud world.

“We can’t be brave in the big world without at least one small safe space to work through our fears and falls.”

Brene Brown

Therapy is hard work but it is important work. Adam feels very grateful to be able to work with so many amazing people and use his experiences (both personally and professionally) to come alongside his clients and help them unpack these issues in a way that hopefully leads to an increased confidence in self, the ability to recognize patterns in one’s life, and developed skills to create and sustain healthy boundaries and habits.

Outside of the office Adam enjoys disc golfing, visiting local coffee shops, breweries and restaurants, cheering for the Buffalo Bills during football season and spending  time with his wife and their three kitties.
