Aspen Starbird, LCSW

Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Aspen is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker that loves working with adults who are interested in utilizing the mind-body connection to better process feeling overwhelmed, experiencing persistent unhappiness, or struggling with negative relational experiences. She spent the beginning of her career working in diverse environments to better understand the impact of developmental trauma in adults and also published international, peer-reviewed research concerning how childhood experiences may impact a person’s self worth, core beliefs, and personality traits in adulthood.

She utilizes brain-based modalities to better identify and process developmental and acute trauma. She also leverages various evidenced-based practices taught in the Certified Trauma Professional I training to process and release negative past experiences, rebuild mind-body connections, and increase relational healing. Through somatic exercises and brainspotting techniques, her clients are able to reprocess trauma and anxiety symptoms that are inhibiting their lives. Through this technique, her clients see symptom reduction and improved quality of life. Additionally, she works with individuals experiencing ADHD, generalized anxiety, and depressive syndromes.

She received a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Georgia. She is also trained in Brainspotting I & II techniques and is a Certified Trauma Professional I. Outside of my work, she likes exploring the Northern Virginia Area, playing with her 3 cats, and making gluten-free treats.
