Dannica Conley, LPC

Licensed Professional Counselor

Dannica specializes in working with individuals struggling with eating disorders and body image disturbance, anxiety disorders, and depression.  She provides a warm, compassionate, non-judgmental space and welcomes the opportunity to support individuals through more difficult seasons of life.  She values humor and playfulness, and leans into each client’s individual strengths to support healing and transformation.

Dannica strives to create a safe space for healing, where individuals feel heard, supported, and valued as human beings.  Working with Dannica means being supported in your desire to work on deeper issues, focusing on areas such as improving quality of life, targeting problematic and maladaptive behaviors, deepening your sense of self, and finding purpose. She tailors her approach to each client’s individual needs, incorporating elements from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Humanistic Counseling, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Positive Psychology, Psychodynamic Therapy, and Narrative Therapy, to name a few. She also has experience in Family-Based Treatment (FBT), an empirically-based approach for the treatment of eating disorders in adolescent populations. Dannica enjoys working with a diverse client population, providing respectful and culturally-competent care, as well as LGBTQ+ affirming care.

Dannica completed her undergraduate degree in Psychology, minoring in Art History, at the University of Arizona.  There she gained valuable research experience working in two different psychology labs.  She earned her Master’s in Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the College of William and Mary, completing her practicum and internship at an eating disorder treatment program.  She graduated summa cum laude from both schools.

Dannica has a wide range of interests and enjoys spending time outside, running along the Potomac, cooking and baking, gardening, and writing.
