Jacklyn McMillan, LCSW

Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Jacklyn is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over a decade of experience in the field. Jacklyn first earned her Bachelors in Psychology from James Madison University, followed by her Masters in Social Work from New York University. As both a therapist and registered yoga teacher, Jacklyn is able to recognize and appreciate that change, and our greatest wellness, is woven together in both mind and body. Understanding how our mental health impacts all we do is an emphasis in Jacklyn's work with clients.

During her career, Jacklyn has provided therapy to a diverse population of teens and adults, helping individuals work through mental health stressors associated with anxiety, depression, women's issues, LGBTQ experiences, life transitions/stress, relationship discord, communication, and self-esteem. Her modalities are varied to meet each client's needs, however she draws heavily from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Positive Psychology, and Relational/Systems Therapy.

Even with our unique differences, at the foundation of all of Jacklyn's work you will find a space with great empathy, curiosity, an energetic spirit, authenticity, non-judgement, warmth, humor, connection, and the support needed to feel empowered to understand and achieve your own self-growth.

Jacklyn believes that therapy can be a beautiful step towards a more fulfilling life; as it provides an opportunity to process and explore, to challenge unhealthy patterns, build upon strengths, and learn how to cope and adjust along the way.

Outside of clinical work, Jacklyn stays engaged with life by enjoying reading, a daily movement practice, nature walks, time with friends and family, and the endless joy from the company of her two dogs.
