Rebecca Caldwell, MS, CAGS, ME.D

Licensed School Psychologist

Ms. Caldwell has practiced as a School Psychologist in a public school setting for over fifteen years. During her career, she has supported children from preschool through young adulthood by providing individual and group counseling, psychoeducational testing, behavior support, and consultation with families and school personnel. Ms. Caldwell has been afforded the opportunity to work in schools that have students with diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Additionally, she is licensed as a School Administrator and has experience and knowledge in instructional program support, administrative management, special education process and procedures and law, school discipline, and curriculum development.

 

Ms. Caldwell also has extensive experience conducting comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations, developing behavioral intervention plans, and developing IEP’s that address the cognitive, social, emotional, behavioral, and academic strengths and needs of children, adolescents, and young adults. Ms. Caldwell has supported children in the development, revamping and utilization of social skills, coping skills and emotional regulation strategies.

 

Ms. Caldwell emphasizes a holistic approach which considers social, emotional, behavioral, academic, and lifestyle factors within the context of the child’s family, school, and community contexts. Above all, Ms. Caldwell strives to help the client achieve a thorough understanding of their issues, identify and build on their strengths, develop problem-solving, coping skills and resilience along with a sense of hope about their future.

 

Ms. Caldwell earned a Bachelor’s degree from Rutgers College with a major in Psychology and Art History (2001). She earned her Master’s degree and Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies from Northeastern University in School Psychology (2003) and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from George Mason University (2011). Ms. Caldwell is a member of the National Association of School Psychologists. She has pursued additional training in the areas of Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Trauma Informed Care, and Cognitive Coaching. Over her career, she has supported children, adolescents, young adults, and their families with a variety of needs including (but not limited to): ADHD and executive functioning, Autism Spectrum Disorders, anxiety, depression, social skills, adjustment difficulties, stress management, and learning disabilities.

 

Ms. Caldwell resides in Northern Virginian with her husband and twin sons. When not working, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, exercising, reading and taking her kids on new adventures.
