Dr. Shaylyn Proulx, PMHNP-BC, FNP-C, CPNP-BC
Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
Dr. Shaylyn Proulx is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who specializes in working with children, adolescents, and young adults. She provides comprehensive mental health evaluations, diagnoses, and medication management to support emotional and behavioral well-being.
Dr. Proulx takes a warm, thoughtful, and highly personalized approach to care. She values building meaningful connections with her patients and their families and works collaboratively to develop treatment plans that feel both practical and supportive. She views medication as one tool within a broader, holistic approach—helping to create the mental space needed for patients to engage more fully in therapy, lifestyle changes, and long-term healing.
Her work is deeply informed by her roles as a caregiver, clinician, and military spouse. She brings empathy, flexibility, and an appreciation for the complexities of family life into her practice, and is especially attuned to how mental health challenges impact both individuals and the systems around them.
Dr. Proulx often works with patients who have been engaged in therapy or lifestyle changes but are still struggling to find meaningful improvement and are interested in exploring whether medication may be a helpful next step. She is best suited for individuals and families who are motivated to engage in a collaborative process and view treatment as an active journey rather than a quick fix.
She has experience working with both pediatric and adult populations across a variety of clinical settings and diverse communities throughout the United States. She prides herself on creating a welcoming, supportive environment where patients feel comfortable, understood, and empowered in their care.
Outside of her clinical work, Dr. Proulx enjoys cooking, crafting, and spending time with her family— including her husband, toddler daughter, corgi and tabby cat.
She values “practicing what she preaches” and prioritizes movement, whether through weightlifting, running, or recreational sports, and continues to work on incorporating mindfulness into her daily routine.
